Here are this week’s recommendations :
Time Travel Cabs by Biswa Kalyan Rath (Short Video, Facebook, 3:45 minutes) :
This is one of the most brilliantly hilarious video I have seen. Available on Facebook (FB account not required to watch)
Into The Night (Series, Netflix, 6 episodes, 224 minutes) :
A six episode fast paced Belgian show. The finale closed happenings of the season quite neatly while keeping good amount of interest for Season 2. This one is totally binge worthy. Here is the Trailer.
Eye in the Sky (Movie, Amazon Prime, 102 minutes) :
In the mood for a tense thriller, then this is the one for you. The film is about drone warfare and its ethical challenges. It is fast paced with numerous twists and turns and was Alan Rickman’s last live action movie. Try not to watch the trailer and go blind in it, you won’t regret.
Supermen of Malegaon (Documentary, YouTube, 65 minutes) :
This is a documentary about the home grown film industry of Malegaon in Maharashtra. They make spoofs of Bollywood and Hollywood movies and Supermen of Malegaon is about how they manage to do so. These 65 minutes do not have any dull moment and the documentary in itself is hilarious and heartbreaking simultaneously. Here is the trailer.
The Outsider (Series, Disney+ Hotstar, 10 episodes, 50-60 minutes each)
Based on a Stephen King novel, this is a crime drama with supernatural elements. Borrowing from a review of the show in the hindu “it is a whodunit and a howdunit and a whydunit and even a whatdunit all rolled into one, and it does so without ever turning messy”. This is a very interesting slow burn kind of show with a terrific cast and makes for a good weekend binge. Here is the trailer.
